In this case, \u201cSwiftPay\u201d is the trade name, while \u201cABC Technologies LLC\u201d remains the legal name used on official documents, such as contracts and tax filings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Registering a trade name allows businesses to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Operate under a more consumer-friendly or brand-focused name<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Use different names for different product lines or services<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Maintain privacy by not using the owner\u2019s legal name (especially in sole proprietorships or single-member LLCs)<br><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Trade names are regulated at the state or local (county) level (not at the federal level).
