Serving as Your Own Registered Agent in Delaware State
Delaware law allows any individual aged 18 or older to serve as their own registered agent, provided they maintain a physical street address in Delaware — not a P.O. box — and are present there during business hours. Most non-resident owners fail the address test, and many who pass it decline because the address becomes public record. A missed service of process can produce a default judgment entered without the owner ever seeing the lawsuit.
